Appointments for GPs

Every GP appointment is now face to face.

Non Urgent appointments - these can be booked in advance with one of our receptionist. They will take a brief description of your symtoms and give you a date and time the GP. Each appointment is for ten minutes and is one patient per appointment. The receptionist will try and accommodate your GP of choice, however this is not always possible.

Urgent appointment request - we have emergency appointments daily between the hours of 8:30amd and 10:00am. If you require urgent medical attention, if you phone between these hours, the receptionist will take a brief description of your symptoms and allocated an appointment. If we have reached capacity for that day you may be asked to call back the next day or offered an alternative appointment type.

 There are no planned surgeries on a Wednesday afternoon, however, a doctor is available for medical emergencies only at the Dunluce Health Centre.

Home Visits

If you are housebound due to illness or have a disability a doctor may attend to you at home.

Please contact reception before 11am to arrange this.

Lack of transport or social reasons are not considered acceptable grounds for a home visit.

Telephone Consultations

We do not offer routine telephone consultations with the GP as all our appointments are now face to face

Currently there is no more planned COVID clinics until the Autumn.

Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:

• Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc.)
• Insurance claim forms
• Passport signing
• Prescriptions for taking medication abroad
• Private sick notes
• Vaccination certificates

The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.
